Area Dust Control

Suppress dust at conveyor transfer points, dump pits, and loading hoppers

Transfer Point and Area Dust Control:

Mining and related processing industries are constantly challenged by the issue of dust control. Dust rapidly disperses, coating machinery, clogging equipment, creating issues with neighboring properties, and presenting a health hazard. Nozzles can spray a fog of correctly-sized water droplets to remove the dust from the air. This mitigation is critical at conveyor transfer points, dump pits, loading hoppers, extraction points, rock crushers, truck dumping locations, and any other place where product is moved. Using a BETE manufactured nozzle and our engineers’ expertise is critical in getting the correct size water droplet for your application.

Spiral nozzles are the most commonly used nozzle to remove airborne dust as they provide a very fine droplet size at reasonable pressures. Recirculated water can be used for dust control provided a suitable filter is fitted on the supply line.

Selecting an Area Dust Control Nozzle:

The most common nozzles recommended are the TF6FC and TF8FC. Depending on your requirements, larger spirals can be used for higher flow rates, or L series nozzles can be used when lower flow rates are needed. Brass is the most common material for dust control due to its cost effectiveness, though many other material options are available. Our engineers can help you design the flow rate, sprinkler placement, and operating pressure for your particular application. Typically, an original BETE spiral or pigtail nozzle will be best-suited to your needs.
