Spiral Spray Nozzles

The original BETE spiral nozzle design is also called a pigtail, corkscrew, or helix nozzle. The spiral produces relatively coarse droplets surrounded by wider bands of relatively fine droplets. Ideal for quenching, scrubbing, and evaporative cooling.

The Original BETE TF Spiral Nozzle Design

Discover the TF spiral nozzle invented by BETE. The durable one-piece design of the TF is resistant to clogging and has a high discharge velocity. Spiral nozzles feature efficient spray performance for finer atomization. The TF offers a wide range of flow rates and spray angles.

Customers trust the reliability of BETE’s spiral nozzles for optimal spraying in quenching, scrubbing, evaporative cooling, fire protection, and more.

Spiral Spray Nozzles

The spiral creates its spray pattern through a unique shearing process as liquid flows across the spiral turns. A hollow cone pattern forms when most of the droplets project outward, creating a ring-shaped spray with minimal coverage in the center. In contrast, the full cone spiral pattern is formed by a series of concentric hollow cones, producing two to three bands of medium-sized droplets surrounded by wider bands of relatively finer droplets, delivering more complete coverage.

Spiral Full Cone

  • Larger droplets form the concentric rings
  • Smaller droplets are entrained between the concentric rings, filling in the pattern

Spiral Hollow Cone

  • All of the droplets form one ring by a single spiral turn
  • A single ring has much less entrainment, creating an ideal hollow cone pattern
Examples of Why You Would Choose This Spray Pattern Over Others
  • For gas cooling or other applications that require a smaller droplet size, the spiral full cone nozzle is an ideal solution.

  • If wind resistance and heat removal are a concern, the concentration of larger droplets in rings produced by the spiral will give you outstanding results.
