Quality Technician

Use mechanical inspection and quality process skills to support the manufacturing of fluid spray products for customers in a diverse range of critical industrial processes. Implement quality procedures and process improvements to support world class quality manufacturing and customer service at a dynamic and growing company.

Your Responsibilities

  • Interpret technical specifications, perform inspections or tests, and promote quality processes to meet BETE product standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspect purchased materials, in-process manufactured products, and product development prototypes using appropriate inspection equipment (micrometers, thread gages, CMM, etc.) and functional test equipment (flow meters, pumps, and data acquisition system) to verify compliance to product and customer specifications.
  • Prepare inspection reports and other Quality documents as needed to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Provide technical input and promote collaboration in the process to analyze defects, decide corrective action, and recommend preventive actions to reduce nonconforming product at BETE and with suppliers.
  • Train employees on the use of measuring equipment, quality system procedures, problem solving, and quality improvement methods.
  • Perform calibration and maintain records of measuring equipment (calipers, height stands, and micrometers) and instrumentation (pressure transducers and flow meters).

Your Skills

Interpersonal/Communication Skills:

  • Ability to interact with people and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate as a member and leader of cross functional teams

Technical Skills:

  • Creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with metrology equipment, mechanical inspection, shop math, and blueprint reading
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office computer software (listed in level of importance)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with quality system and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to learn and apply product knowledge, learn new skills, and train others
  • Ability to identify process improvements, analyze data, and solve problems
  • Experience with a Coordinate Measurement Machine is a plus

Qualifications

  • High School / Trade school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years’ work experience in manufacturing quality function

Apprentice Toolmaker

Primary Skills

  • Self-starter – Be motivated to create products using your skills with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively – You will work with a variety of people and must have the interpersonal skills to successfully communicate information to engineers, machinists, and production personnel. This includes giving and receiving useful feedback, resolving conflicts, and seeking the root cause of a problem.
  • Participate in creative problem solving – A portion of the work is making things that have never been made before. Strive to understand the basic problem and contribute your knowledge to help solve it.
  • Be flexible – Priorities are subject to change. Be able to seamlessly move from task to task and back again. Be able to create parts from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Be skilled - Must be knowledgeable in metal working operations with proficiency in manual and CNC machine skills such as reading a program, trimming and fixturing machines and using index heads, collet fixtures, chucks, selecting tooling, etc. Simultaneously, be honest about your skills and know when to ask for guidance.
  • Compute – a basic understanding of Microsoft Office is needed along with experience using CAD and CAM (or a very strong desire to learn).

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptionally high quality and precision in all aspects of work.
  • Positively collaborate with the Manufacturing and Engineering groups to develop and create prototypes, new products, machining and assembly fixturing, improve tooling and work holding, and any other items required.
  • Work with both Design and the Wax Room to create and maintain investment casting molds to support Foundry operations.
  • Fix broken or malfunctioning work-holding as soon as possible to minimize machine downtime.
  • Provide technical expertise and suggestions.
  • Look for opportunities to make improvements.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years minimum machining experience.

Hours

  • This is a first shift position.

CNC Machinist - 2nd & 3rd Shifts
